The Friends of Shanklin Theatre at Shanklin Carnival

The volunteers were very proud to attend their very first Shanklin Carnival promoting the theatre on Wednesday 6th August; we wanted to do something different to attract attention to the theatre so we called upon the services of Dave Willow from the Vectis Historic Vehicle Club.

Dave owns a vintage 1948 MG YB named “Sally” and was very kind to offer his vehicle at the carnival for the evening, he said: “They saw me fundraising on the seafront and called me up, I’m going to get involved with the theatre more now”

Our thanks go out to our dedicated volunteers collecting funds for the carnival on the night and for their fantastic fancy dress & never ending enthusiasm, present on the evening were: Helen Mc Fagan, Alana Bird, Viv Howell, Lin Armstrong, Louise Bond, Shirley Armstrong, Sally Sibley, Sharon Merrick & John Steege, special thanks also to Barrie James for recommending the wonderful vintage vehicle.
